Natural gas is a valuable fossil fuel for various industries. Methane (CH4) is the main component of natural gas making 98% of its composition .
Natural gas may contain (in various proportions) homologous compounds like ethane (S2H6), propane (C3H8), butane (C4H10), and impurities: hydrogen (H2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen (N2), helium (He) and weak acids.
