Kazancompressormash joins forces with VNIIR to develop offshore fields

On October 8, 2025, as part of the XIV St. Petersburg International Gas Forum -the most important business event of the Russian oil and gas industry, a strategic partnership agreement was signed between Kazancompressormash (part of the HMS Group) and VNIIR (ABS Electro Group).

The document was signed by Yuri Skrynnik, Chief Managing Director of the HMS Compressors Business Unit, and Sergey Antonov, General Director of VNIIR.

The parties agreed to jointly develop innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of subsea gas production at offshore fields. The main areas of cooperation include the creation of hermetic gas pumping units made according to the motor-compressor scheme with a variable-frequency drive, including for underwater mining complexes. It also provides for the development of integrated supplies, including frequency-controlled drives, gas pumping units and compressor stations.

Sergey Antonov noted: "The companies have been joined by many years of successful cooperation. The new agreement confirms the parties' intention to continue a fruitful partnership. Furthermore, it guarantees the continued stable operation of both companies to implement ambitious plans to localize the high-tech equipment production in Russia.
