The Mayor of Kazan discussed modernization possibilities and jobs increase with management of the plant.

Today within the framework of the anti-crisis headquarters activities, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited Kazancompressormash JSC, where he got acquainted with enterprise performance during the economic sanctions period. The main topics of the meeting were sustainable business, rates of modernization, import substitution and increase of jobs – today the company employs over 1700 people.

Ilnur Sagdiev, a Managing Director of Kazancompressormash, accompanied the city mayor. He showed to I. Metshin the factory site and the work of assembling workshop. Ilnur Sagdiev noted that the plant is one of the systematic companies in Kazan and one of the few in Russia whose activities are virtually unaffected by economic sanctions as well. This way, almost 2 years ago, the factory almost completely switched to import substitution, and the products manufactured by the company are aimed at the Russian market.

“The company is constantly upgrading its equipment. In the nearest future, the company plans to expand the foundry and turbo-expander production”- told I. Sagdiev to the Mayor.

The enterprise manufactures centrifugal and rotary screw compressors, turbo-expanders, integrally geared compressor units and various components, including gas turbine drives and multipliers. The products finds application in oil &gas, chemical industry, steel & mining and power generation industry.

Today, the company operates around the clock in three shifts. The main suppliers of components and raw materials are the domestic companies and the demand for products during the economic blockade continues to increase. In 2020 and 2021, the plant manufactured products for the amount of more than 27 billion rubles. “The company consistently and punctually pays salary to employees, while there is a need in new qualified specialists,”- Ilnur Sagdiev added. Due to the expansion of production, the plant needs about 100 specialists, including assembly workers and machine tools operators.

I.Metshin after familiarization with operation of the enterprise, gave a high rate to progress in development of the business practices. “Kazancompressormash is a successful example of import substitution. The management has done a great work to move away from imported components, and today the plant has orders from Russian companies for some years to come. The company and its employees have confidence about the future”, – the Mayor noticed.

Ildar Shakirov, the deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan and Roman Fatkhutdinov, the head of the Sovetsky District Administration, also took part in the inspection of the enterprise.

Earlier, within the framework of the anti-crisis headquaters activities, the Mayor held two round tables with representatives of shopping centers, large food processing companies and retail chains. Also the Head of the city visited Nefis Cosmetics, Danilovskaya Manufaktura and the Department of Food and Social Catering of Kazan.
